2 years ago we were planning the opening of EYES on St Albans – not any point did it cross our minds that we’d be having to work out a reopening of the shop amidst a global pandemic in 2020.
We’ve spent the last 12 weeks wondering whether and how we could open again, safely. Whether our wonderful customers would want to leave their homes and come into the shop? We miss you but want you to stay safe.
June 13th brought 2 lots of good news – one that we had won a WooHoo award from the good folk at The Businesses Community, St Albans – the other being we can test eyes again as of Monday 15th .
We’ve already received our deliveries of PPE, worked out how to fit glasses safely and put our 2m apart stickers out on the floor. Our time before lockdown had been used working out how to clean absolutely everything whilst allowing you to try on as many pairs of frames as you wish, have your eyes tested and everything else you expect from us.
Appointments
Our appointments are going to be a little bit further apart than they were -to make sure you get all the time you need and that we can clean what needs cleaning between patients.
If you need an eye test (maybe yours is due, you’ve noticed changes in your vision or have had to adapt to a new way of working that affects your eyes), please fill in this form:
EYE test appointment
We’ll be in touch to find the best time for you to come in.
EnChroma
If you’d like to book an EnChroma appointment, please fill in this form;
We’ll be running EnChroma appointments at different times to testing (unless you need both in which case, let us know in the ‘anything we need to know’ box)
Jez – can you fix it???
If you’ve dropped them, sat on them, the lens has fallen out, you’ve a screw loose or you’ve run out of Squeaky Clean – just pop in to the shop. We might ask you to wait at a distance and we can’t promise we can resurrect every pair, but, as ever, we’ll do our best.
We can also help with sunglasses (if it rains now we’ve said this, we apologise), contact lenses, eye drops, general adjustments and advice if you’re suddenly spending more time online and your eyes are struggling.
When?
We will announce when the doors will officially reopen on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds – we are really looking forward to seeing you soon – just be prepared for the state of Jez’s haircut!
