EnChroma®
EYES on SEEING THE DIFFERENCE
9 out of 10 people who try EnChroma® here fall a little bit in love with the world all over again.
We’ve been seeing the difference EnChroma® glasses make to people with colour vision deficiency since day one – and the magic never wears off.
We were the first in the UK to offer in-person appointments too – a service that we still offer (even when it makes us a bit emotional).
Whilst you can check whether EnChroma® might help you online, there’s truly nothing like experiencing it for real – and we give you plenty of time to try them out, visit other local shops, our community garden and, for about 9 out of 10 customers, experience colours they’ve never seen before.

curious?
Not being able to see some colours is a common condition.
Statistically in the UK, 1 in 12 men and 1 in 200 women have some form of colour vision deficiency – which is also known as colour blindness.
We’re completely open that EnChroma® lenses don’t work for everyone with colour vision deficiency – but we find that they make a difference for about 9 in 10 people who try them.
That difference can be experiencing a wider range of colours, identifying colours never experienced before (grass, hedgerows, raspberries, oranges – all sorts) and whilst some people get instant results, some experience an improvement over time.
All the EnChroma® lenses are available as either prescription single vision and varifocal or non prescription, these lenses may be fitted into your own frame (subject to a quality check) or any frames or sunglasses that we have in the shop.
Will they work for me?
We honestly don’t know. We never make promises but can say the results that we’ve seen over the last 7 years are more than enough to keep us offering EnChroma® in the shop.
The best way to find out is to take the online test, share the result with us and we’ll go from there.

Introducing EnChroma® LX
If you’re living with low vision or glare sensitivity, EnChroma® LX lenses could make a big difference to your daily life.
These clever lenses use special tints to enhance contrast, reduce glare, and boost visual comfort — whether you’re reading, walking outdoors, or navigating busy spaces.
Designed especially for people with low vision, macular degeneration or other visual impairments (they say ‘adults over 50’ but age is just a number… right???), LX lenses help sharpen detail and improve definition in everything from faces to footpaths. And as always, we’ll help you find the right style and fit — so you can feel good and see better.
Come in and try them for yourself — we’ll guide you through it all, no pressure, just friendly advice (and maybe just a bit of rock’n’roll).
How do they work?
Like all EnChroma® lenses, there’s a whole load of clever science that goes into producing the LX lenses. They essentially work in 4 ways:
GLARE PROTECTION & COMFORT:
Filters out wavelengths of light that cause discomfort from glare to produce a comforting, quietening effect on the eye.
COLOUR:
Enhances colour perception for improved functional vision without the undesirable dark lens effect that masks important visual cues.
CONTRAST:
Enhanced contrast and clarity for mobility and safety.
BLUE LIGHT FILTERING:
Eases digital eye strain and reduces glare for visual comfort.
Good but not perfect!
The one thing that the LX range can’t do is combine with the EnChroma® technology for colour vision deficiency in the same lense. And, just like the colour blindness lenses, they’re not effective for everyone in the same way. Our invitation to you is to come and try them for yourself – we’ll then get them made, with your prescription, in the frame of your choice.
The difference they can make;
